This Bermudian owned company was started after the founder had a near-death experience. Facing death inspired her to practice mindfulness and live a nontoxic lifestyle. Her goal is to incorporate healing in mind, body, and spirit with her products. Ase Naturals are made from 100% naturally-derived botanical ingredients and crystals. We’re already swooning with her rose quartz-infused herbal bath soak!
OrganiGrowHairCo
Kay Cola, the CEO of OrganiGrowHairCo, wears many hats. She is also a philanthropist and Grammy-nominated songwriter. She founded the company after struggling to find ways to make her curls look best.
She states, “We are all created equal, but our hair is not. Therefore, I created each oil specifically for each hair porosity.” The website also features a hair porosity test, which enables the customer to discover which products will work best for her needs.
Beneath Your Mask
Nine years ago, Beneath Your Mask owner, Dana was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. While undergoing conventional medical treatment, she simultaneously began to adopt Eastern medicine techniques. She also changed her diet and began mental and spiritual healing.
The incorporation of Eastern medicine and help from her gurus empowered her to truly begin taking care of herself. It ultimately inspired her to start this skincare line, which uses nontoxic, all natural, organic ingredients. We’ve already got our eyes on her petroleum-free lip balm that features ximenia, an African plum oil.
Mented Cosmetics

This Black-owned makeup brand got its start over a glass of pinot. The founders, KJ Miller and Amanda Johnson were discussing how difficult it was to find the perfect nude lipstick for their skin tones. While Mented Cosmetics specializes in lipstick, it also offers an assortment of different makeup products. Each product at Mented is perfectly crafted to match a variety of skin tones.
The Mented founders also give back to the community by mentoring women and consistently speaking out about issues that plague our nation.
BLK + GRN
BLK+ GRN describes themselves as “An All-Natural Marketplace By All Black Artisans”. What’s amazing about this is that 72 different artisans contribute to this green marketplace! They offer a variety of body-friendly products, books, cleaning, and menstrual care as well.
